A rock solid bottle of wine, Skinner's 2010 Mourvedre is 85% Mourvedre and 15% Syrah that spent 11 months in 20% new French oak. Perfumed and complex, with the textbook Mourvedre meatiness and smoked game qualities, this picks up more plum, pepper, lavender, and wild herb qualities with air and has outstanding depth and richness. Just as good on the palate, with a medium to full-bodied mouth feel, excellent freshness, and a clean, focused finish, this can be consumed now, or cellared for 5-7 years. Very well done.

Deep, bright-hued red. High-pitched aromas of redcurrant and cherry are complemented by subtle floral and herb nuances. Juicy, taut red fruit flavors show a light touch and pick up spiciness with air. A bright, brisk take on the variety, finishing with good clarity and cut.
