A new wine for Sette Ponti, the 2012 Vigna dell'Impero is 100% Sangiovese from Valdarno di Sopra. Crushed red berries, flowers and gently knit spices are all lifted throughout. Ideally, the 2012 could use a little more pliancy through the mid-palate, but it is attractive just the same. Drink this delicate, gracious Sangiovese over the next handful of years.

Cherry and plum flavors and tar and resin notes mark this burly red. The tannins are too dry in the end. Sangiovese. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 300 cases made.
